Welcome to September!

The month of change.  The sun is setting early.  The colors are turning orange and amber. The butterflies and hummingbirds are beginning their migration south.

Summer is officially winding down. As we shift into this season with new yet possibly familiar, maybe unfamiliar routines, it’s important to keep caring for our bodies and minds. 

This month I want to talk about Biohacking and our Endocannabinoid System.  (eCs)

First things first:

What is biohacking?

Biohacking is when we make changes to our health and lifestyle with the intention of “hacking” our bodies’ biology with the desired outcome of an improved state of well-being. A biohacker understands that this takes a commitment to self along with time and patience. It is challenging and time-consuming. However, we can be successful with one change at a time AND with the proper support. That’s where this Happy Healthy High Life comes into play!

Here we choose to “Honor Thyself with Plants” as we would take the time to honor and care for a neighbor with a nourishing meal and exchange of positive energy. A place where those of us who suffer from chronic pain, anxiety, and even insomnia can come together and learn how to biohack our health and overcome our challenges by supporting our Endocannabinoid System. (eCs)

My Endo what?

Your endocannabinoid system….without getting into the “weeds” of the science (sorry, I couldn’t help myself), your Endocannabinoid system (eCs) is your body’s most widespread receptor system.

There are four main ways to support this system:

  • A Healthy Intake of Whole Foods and Plants
  • Regular Movement
  • Mindful Stress Techniques
  • Cannabis

Understanding these four main ways is where biohacking our eCs gets fun and confusing all at the same time!

Time to lean into our determination to uncover each challenge one cannabinoid at a time.

As biohackers, we are always piecing our health together like pieces of a puzzle. When we find a piece that fits, we celebrate then move on to the next piece.

Supporting our eCs with Cannabis is like finding the piece that you didn’t know was missing. It takes time to restore balance to this system. We did not get unhealthy overnight. It took time. Restoring balance to our system takes COMMITMENT to practice PATIENCE with SELF.

Cannabis is a highly dynamic plant.

We are unique individuals. When we face chronic pain, anxiety, and or insomnia, it can be difficult to find hope on the end of something that seems so new but at the same time so intuitive and ancient. This idea of treating our bodies with whole foods and plant-based medicine is an old tradition in many lands and cultures. However, the SCIENCE on the eCs and the HUMAN body is new and constantly emerging. We’re in this weird quasi post cannabis prohibition where the culture has still not completely caught up with the benefits of this uniquely diverse plant for our everyday wellness.

Ask yourself, “Do I take the time to Honor my Body & Mind with nourishing whole foods, intentional movements, stress reduction techniques, and Cannabis?”

“Where is one to start on their biohacking journey with Cannabis as a tool to self-healing?”
